Abstract
689,277. Greenhouses, horticultural frames, &c. GUANO FERTILIZER CO., Ltd. Jan. 8, 1952 [Jan. 18, 1951], No. 1419/51. Class 20(i) A barn-type horticultural frame, or glass house, comprises a pair of frame structures, only one shown, Fig. 1, which are mounted back to back and are connected together at the apices to form a common ridge, each frame having a displaceable glazed roof light articulated to wall supporting end members 1 by means of links 8. The end members are formed from lengths of angle iron bent to make wall and roof-supporting members 1, 2, each pair of end members being connected by a bar 5, a footing member 4 and, if used, a ridge member 3. The links 8, preferably interconnected by a bar 16, are connected at one end to the lower members 6 of the rooflight and at the other end to lugs 9 on the wall-supporting members 1 so that the rooflight can be swung from a fully closed position, Fig. 1, to a fully open position, Fig. 3 Glass sheets are secured, e.g. with clips, into the front and end walls of the structure. When a rooflight is fully open it may be secured to the bar 5 by a clip 11 and when it is adjusted for partial opening, Fig. 2, studs 15 projecting laterally from each side roof engage in corresponding slots 14 in ramps 13 fixed along the roofsupporting bars 2. A single frame structure may be erected against a wall as a lean-to. Specification 663,804 is referred to.
