Abstract
689,068. Ink. LEVEY CO., Inc., F. H. Nov. 27, 1950. No. 28999/50. Drawings to Specification. Class 146 (iii). [Also in Group XVI] An ink of the type consisting of a pigmented solution of a resin in a petroleum derivative solvent, for use with rubber printing plates (see Group XVI), has the following composition (W%) : alkali blue base 2, zinc resinate 15.3, petroleum hydrocarbon (boiling point 450 ‹F. ) 22.6, water 0.1, asphaltum 0.75, rosin 0.68, petroleum hydrocarbon (boiling point 503‹F.) 1.07, wetting agent 3.2, carbon black 16, calcium carbonate pigment 6.3, petroleum hydrocarbon (boiling point 381‹F.) 32. The ink is softer than normal magazine inks, having (at 25 ‹F.) a viscosity of 10.1 poises and a yield value of 57.3 dynes per sq. cm.
