Abstract

688,130. Wheeled parcel carriers. FAULKNER, R. Dec. 11, 1950 [Dec. 10, 1949], No. 31767/49. Class 108 (i). A parcel carrier comprises a frame 1 supporting a basket 2 which may pivot by means of arms 26 about a shaft 8 in a handle 6, and a tray 3 adapted to pivot about a strut 14. A rear wall 24 of the basket may also rotate about the handle, and the tray which is supported in the operative position by a transverse rod rod 21, is contained by base frames 15, 16 of bent metal rod or strip. Identical trollies may be nested together by pushing the frame 15, 16 of one trolley into the U of the base frame of another, which movement causes the rear wall 24 and the tray 3 to pivot into the horizontal position. The Provisional Specification describes also a modification wherein the basket comprises a rigid U-shaped base frame each rear end of which is turned upwardly and extends above the basket. The upper ends are cranked outwardly and engage holes in the brackets 7. In another modification the rear wall of the basket may be pivoted about a transverse rod &c. between the upwardly turned rear ends of the basket.
