Abstract

687,827. Electric condensers. LICENCIA TALALMANYOKAT ERTEKESITO VALLALAT. Aug. 3, 1951, No. 18374/51. Class 37. A dielectric material consists of a plastic material filled with a metal oxide, the plastic material being removed after moulding by heating, and the resultant product may be fired or sintered. Suitable plastic materials are cellulose derivatives such as nitrocellulose, acetyl-cellulose, benzyl-cellulose, or rubber, neoprene, butadiene, isoprene, or polystyrol, polyvinyl chloride or polyvinyl carbazole, or nylon, silicones or acryl- and methylacryl resins. The plastic material may be made more elastic by the addition of castor oil, glycerine, glycols, or esters of polymerized ricinoleic acid, phthalic acid anhydride, phthalic acid, triacetin, tricresyl phosphate, tributyl phosphate, triphenyl phosphate. The plastic material may be mixed with a solvent, e.g. the higher alcohols, which afterwards evaporates. The metal oxides used as fillers may be of aluminium, magnesium, berylium, silicon, titanium zirconium. The mix is preferably rolled into thin films upon which electrodes are deposited, e.g. nickel, aluminium, lead, copper, molybdenum or tantalum by spraying, precipitation or cathodic dispersion. The coated films may be rolled or stacked, pressed, heated to about 400‹ C. to remove the plastic material, compressed and fired at 1300‹ C. in a suitable atmosphere such as argon. The electrodes may be of mesh form.
