Abstract

687,205. Semi-conductor circuits. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and RUTENBERG, A. March 6, 1951 [Jan. 26, 1950], No. 2089/50. Classes 40 (v) and 40 (vi). Means for producing pulses of alternating current from direct current impulses comprises a crystal triode connected in an oscillator circuit, oscillations occurring only during the direct current impulses which supply the operating voltages for all the electrodes of the triode. The oscillator circuit comprises a parallel resonant circuit 8, 9 which is associated with the base, emitter and collector electrodes of a crystal triode 7 in a manner similar to that of a Hartley oscillator. The output is taken from the collector electrode via transformer 14. Direct current impulses, such as positive marking impulses and negative spacing impulses from a telegraph transmitter, are applied to terminals 1, and rectifiers 2 and 4 are provided so that positive pulses cause current to flow through resistances 5 and 6 to provide operating voltages for the electrodes of the crystal triode. Negative pulses cause current to flow through resistance 3, and if desired a second crystal triode oscillator may be associated with this part of the circuit so that marking and spacing impulses of different frequency may be produced.
