In a machine for the moulding of plastic material to form bars or pellets, of the type in which material is fed between rollers and a perforated die rotated relatively to one another, the contacting faces of the die and rollers lie on continuous surfaces of revolution and are curved or V-shaped, concave or convex in crosssection, complementarily to one another. The die 12 may be in the form of an annular disc, Figs. 1, 4, on which rollers 10 roll, or the die may be in the form of a ring, Figs. 6, 7, within which the rollers 10 roll. The rollers in either arrangement may be spherical and convex, as in Fig. 1; spherical and concave, as in Fig. 7; double-conical and convex, as in Fig. 6, or double-conical and concave, as in Fig. 4. The part of the die containing the holes is of constant thickness and cross-section, whereby the die holes are of uniform length. When the die is in the form of a disc the die holes are at right angles to the plane of the disc; when it is in the form of a ring the die holes may be radial, as shown, or tangential to a circle of diameter less than the radius of the ring.
