Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the granulating capacity of a granulating machine for a synthetic resin material, by forming recesses and projections in and on outer peripheral portions of opposed surfaces of a rotary block and a stationary block, and partially removing the recesses and projections. CONSTITUTION:A rotary block 10 is disposed in such a manner that it is spaced at a predetermined distance from and in opposition to a stationary block 5 having a material supply passage 5a in the central portion thereof. A gap between the blocks 5, 10 is decreased gradually toward outer peripheries thereof. A material supplied between the blocks 5, 10 is molten and granulated by the rotation of the rotary block with respect to the stationary block. Annular recesses 10b, 10c and projections 12, 13 are provided in and on outer peripheral portions of opposed surfaces of the blocks 5, 10. The recesses 10b, 10c and projections 12, 13 are partially removed to form intermittent recesses and projections. The material is broken by the rotation of the rotary block 10 into columnar pieces of small diameters, which are torn by the centrifugal pieces so as to be discharged.
