686,779. Sirens. BOUCHER, R. M. G. Jan. 24, 1951 [Feb. 21, 1950], No. 4409/50. Class 13 [Also in Groups II, XII, XXVIII, XXIX] A supersonic siren 49, Fig. 7. producing stationary waves of accoustic power 2 kw. and frequency 30 kc. for effecting agglomeration of air-borne particles (see Groups XII and XXVIII) comprises a rotor 50 driven at 20,000 r.p.m. by a motor 51 and controlling orifices 54 spaced around a stator 55. Compressed air from a supply duct 56 is fed into a groove 57 on a diffuser plate 58 and thence through holes 59 in the rotor, the orifices 54 and an exponential horn 52, Fig. 6. Specification 666,291, [Group XII], is referred to.
