Abstract
686,532. Automatic control systems. BENDIX AVIATION CORPORATION. March 3, 1949 [June 28, 1948], No. 5870/49. Class 38 (iv). In a system for deriving an A.C. signal of a desired frequency from an A.C. signal of a different frequency, e.g. a signal from an automatic pilot, the latter signal, produced by a source 27, is fed into push-pull connected discharge devices 23, 23<SP>1</SP> to produce D.C. output across the leads 37, 38, the magnitude and polarity of which are correlated with the amplitude and phase of the A.C. signal; the D.C. output is then fed to balanced saturable core reactors 40, 41 supplied from a source 80 of the desired frequency so as to produce an A.C. signal of that frequency, the magnitude and phase of which is related to the original signal. Several systems of the character shown may be arranged so that a single correlated A.C. signal of desired frequency can be derived from a plurality of originating signals of different magnitudes, phases and frequencies, e.g. signals representing displacement, rate of displacement, &c. Specification 647,961, [Group XXXIX], is referred to.
