In a sound-film reproducing apparatus, uniform motion is obtained by one or more guide pulleys 8 on fixed axes placed in such a manner that the part of the film 1 between a driving sprocket 2 and a sound drum 3, driven by the film, has a curved shape. The film 1 is held in contact with the sound drum by a spring-loaded jockey pulley 10. Mounted inside the drum is a photo-electric cell 5 which receives light through the film from a source 4.
