Abstract

684,361. Wall and floor conduits. GREENWOOD'S & AIRVAC VENTILATING CO., Ltd., and Hughes, B. D. Oct. 1, 1951 [Sept. 29, 1950]. No. 23943/50.- Class 20 (ii). [Also in Group XXXVI]. An underfloor conduit system for electric cables comprises a plurality of conduit lengths 4, each of rectangular cross-section and having a flanged base 8, one or more curved lengths 18, means for securing or locating the lengths end-to-end, one or more rectangular junction boxes 10, each provided in at least one of its side walls with an aperture 15 for the reception of an end of a length 4, and means for locking the end to the junction box. The lengths 4 are laid end-to-end on a concrete base 1 and secured together as by cover clips 9. After installation they are covered with screeding 2 and floor covering 3. Junction boxes 10 have a depth approximately equal to that of screeding 2 and have a recessed top so that a piece of floor covering 3x may be laid on cover plate 12. The curved sections 18 lead the conduit to wall boxes 17.
