Abstract

683,663. Electric bells. FORGES ET ATELIERS DE CONSTRUCTIONS ELECTRIQUES DE JEUMONT. Feb. 2, 1951 [Feb. 8, 1950], No. 2600/51. Class 13. The striker 9 of a single stroke bell is connected to a ring 7 mounted on a core 1 so that when A.C. is passed through a coil 2 the bell gong is hit by the striker. A spring- loaded washer 13 mounted on the striker 9 co-operates with a stop on the casing to prevent the striker remaining in contact with the gong. The casing may be flame-proof and gas tight for use in mines. In a modification the striker is resiliently mounted and co-operates with a fixed stop, the mounting allowing the striker to pivot round the stop to hit the gong but preventing it from remaining in contact with the gong.
