Abstract

731,200. Sprinkler heads. FIRE ARMOUR, Ltd. Aug. 31, 1953 [March 3, 1953], No. 5873/53. Class 47. In a sprinkler head comprising a nozzle 10 closed by a plug 24 which is held in position by a frangible glass bulb 21 supported by a yoke 13, a spreader plate 26 is mounted within the yoke so that the flow of water on to it is uninterrupted. The plate 26 is provided with an annular series of apertures 30. A further plate 31 having peripheral notches 33 may be arranged below the plate 26. The plug 24 may be covered with copper 25 and have a copper ring 22. The bulb 21 is supported by a holder 19 which has a copper ring 20 and is adjustable by a screw 18. The nozzle 10 may include a venturi 40.
