682,427. Animal traps. SAWYER, F. E. Aug. 27, 1951 [Jan. 19, 1951], No. 1465/51. Class 5(i) Arms 3, 4 are, at their lower ends, passed round or through the base 1 and connected by a strong spring 9. Pivot pins are not used. The arms are held set by a pivoted plate 20 which is engaged by a hook 19 on a pivoted plate 14 to which the tread plate 13 is attached. Release of the arms from the plate 20 is effected by the pressure of a third member 24 pivoted on the pin 16 and engaging the plate 20 near its pivot 21. During settings, a ring 28 on the arm 3 may be passed under the lug 29 on the base. Unintentional release is also avoided by turning the wire loop 26 pivoted on the pin 16 to rest on the plate 20.
