Abstract
682,107. Cables. VDM-KABELWERKE SUDKABEL GES. April 25, 1950 [July 2, 1949], No. 10204/50. Class 36. Electric conductors are insulated with tapes or foils made by peeling or stripping solid bodies of foam material and applied to the conductor so as to avoid the formation of air spaces between adjacent edges. The tapes or foils may be lapped on or applied to the conductors as longitudinal coverings, and the peeling or stripping operation preferably takes place at the same temperature as the application to the conductors. A layer of heat-insulating material, such as spun glass, may be applied over or between the layers of foam insulation.
