680,916. Optical-projection systems. ELECTRIC & MUSICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Nov. 16, 1950 [Nov. 28, 1949], No. 30454/49. Drawings to Specification. Class 97 (i). [Also in Groups XL (a) and XL (b)] In a cathode-ray tube apparatus, e.g. a television receiver of the type wherein the picture is projected by an optical system, a Fresnel lens is provided close to the fluorescent screen and may form the end wall of the tube. The lens projects the light from the screen on to a concave mirror which reflects and focuses the light on a projection screen. A further reflector may be interposed between the lens and the mirror so that the cathode-ray tube may be arranged outside the light path between the mirror and the projection screen.
