Abstract

680,297. Centrifugal separators. COLLIERY ENGINEERING. Ltd., and LAWRIE, A. E. March 20, 1951 [Dec. 21, 1949], No. 32707/49. Class 23 A cyclone comprises a cylindrical metal inlet drum and a conical cyclone chamber of which at least the apex portion is made of glass or metal lined with glass. In a modification the cyclone comprises a "straight through dust separator having an inlet tube h which is co-axially mounted on a metal outlet tube k and spaced therefrom to form a throw-out gap l surrounded by a discharge chamber m. The inlet tube is made of glass or metal lined with glass whilst its guide vanes i and fairing j are made of glass or metal.
