Abstract

680,028. Distributing music, news, &c. COMMUNICATIONS PATENTS, Ltd. May 21, 1951 [Feb. 21, 1950], No. 4460/50. Class 40 (iv). [Also in Group XL (b)] In a wired broadcasting system for distributing signals occupying two different parts of the frequency spectrum, a quarter-wave resonant line section 4, 5 is inserted at a point in each of the system lines 1, 2 to block the higher frequency signal from the remainder of the system. The lines 1, 2 to the left of the resonant line 4, 5 in the Figure are fed with A.F. sound signals and H.F. television signals and the latter are limited to the left. The resonant lines are separated to reduce mutual coupling, or alternatively their ends may be interconnected by a condenser. Resistances may be inserted at the junction of the resonant line and the system conductors for matching purposes.
