679,740. Blood - cell counting-apparatus. METROPOLITAN - VICKERS ELECTRICAL CO., Ltd. Dec. 27, 1950 [Jan. 20, 1950], No. 1622/50. Drawings to Specification. Class 81 (ii). In blood-cell counting-apparatus of the type in which an electrical impulse is received from a scanning head on the passage of each blood cell, amplitude selective means are incorporated between the scanning head and the counter so that only impulses above a predetermined level are effective for actuating the counter. One electronic relay circuit which produces a pulse of constant shape on the application of each impulse having an amplitude above a critical level is the Schmitt trigger circuit and this is conveniently connected between the photo-cell amplifier and the dividing and counting apparatus. Such an arrangement prevents false operation of the counting device by valve " noises." Specification 679,741 is referred to.
