Abstract

679,276. Packages ; wrappers. FLEX FASTENERS, Ltd. May 2, 1951 [May 11, 1950], No. 11761/50. Classes 94(i) and 94(ii). A wrapper for a sliding clasp fastener 14 comprises a sheet of wrapping material having at least three portions 1, 2, 3, folded along the lines 5, 6, to form the enclosure, Fig. 4, which is secured by a lug 21 entering an incision in the portion 1. One or more additional portions 4 may be provided and may be folded in zig-zag fashion on to the portion 3 beneath the lug 21. The portion 2 is provided with a hole 11 for the pull member 12 of the fastener and a window 14 for displaying the fastener when the wrapper is folded. Recesses 23, 24, 31, 32, corresponding in width to that of the fasteners, are provided in portions 3, 4, &c., over which the fastener is wound in zig-zag manner within the recesses. The wrapper may be adapted to fasteners of different lengths by tearing off a tag 28 to provide a deep slot 24. The lines of fold of the wrapper may be defined by creasing, scoring or perforating, and the lug 21, tag 28, and window 14, which may be provided with a cover of transparent or translucent material, are formed by punched incisions. The incisions forming the window may be I shaped to form two tabs which may support the back of the fastener behind the window.
