Abstract

679,244. Suspending curtains. MELVIN, L. F. Jan. 23, 1951. No. 1749/51. Class 52 (v). A pelmet a has a roof portion consisting of two aligned sections b c each having a longitudinal semi-circular groove bl c<SP>1</SP> to from a circular channel to accommodate curtain supporting runners. The pelmet is supported by brackets f which fit by dovetail jointing in to aligned transverse rebated channels f on the top of the roof member. The runners may be of plastic strip shaped to cylindrical form with depending ends as shown in Fig. 7. Fig. 8 shows an alternative construction of runner in the form of a cylinder with a depending loop to support curtain engaging hooks. A cord p passes through holes r r<SP>1</SP> while a recess r<SP>2</SP> enables the cord to be anchored to the runner by fitting a knot in the cord into the recess.
