Abstract

677,714. Consolidating concrete by vibrators. KEYSER, C. DE. Dec. 31, 1947 [Nov. 6, 1942], No. 35407/47. Class 86 The reinforcing wires 1, Fig. 1, of reinforced concrete are vibrated to ensure homogeneity of the concrete by means of bars 2, in contact with the wires and vibrated by a vibrator 6 and which are finally left in the concrete. The vibrator 6 also vibrates the shuttering. The invention is shown applied to a beam and a column. One or two bars 2 may be interlaced with a row of wires as in Figs. 3, 4 (not shown). In Fig. 5 the vibrations are transmitted indirectly, the bars 2 being in contact with bars 23, which form an additional reinforcement, and are connected by bars 3, 4 to the vibrator 6. The invention is shown applied to the construction of an air raid shelter, Fig. 7 (not shown), in which a number of vibrators is used which may be controlled from a single control post. The application to a bridge is also shown.
