676,809. Dry surface contact rectifiers. WESTINGHOUSE BRAKE & SIGNAL CO., Ltd., and JENKINS, A. Dec. 6, 1950 [Jan. 11, 1950], No. 761/50. Class 37. The counter-electrode in a titanium dioxide rectifier is composed wholly or mainly of thallium. The Specification recognizes that it is known to use molybdenum and indium. A wafer of prepared TiO 2 is immersed in nitric acid and then washed in tap water. One surface has then applied to it, for example by cathodic deposition or mechanical pressure, a counterelectrode composed wholly or mainly of thallium.
