676,288. Electrolytic condensers electrolytic surface treatment of aluminium. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. (Suddeutsche Apparate Fabrik Ges.). Feb. 15, 1951, No. 3682/51. Classes 37 and 41. The anode of an electrolytic condenser is given a protective coating by subjecting it to three baths of which the first and last are electrolytic. An aluminium foil 2 for making a rolled condenser is passed through an electrolytic bath 4 containing boiling boric acid, potassium lye or citric acid ; it then passes into a second non-electrolytic bath which dissolves the water-soluble oxides ; the third bath is identical with the first. The second bath may have boiling distilled water.
