Abstract

676,241. Ventilators. NYA MURBRUKSFABRIKENS I STOCKHOLM AKTIEBOLAG. Nov. 8, 1949 [April 8, 1949; April 11, 1949], Nos. 28645/49 and 28646/49. [A Specification was laid open for inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, May 22, 1950.] Class 137 A filter body, forming an air purifier is detachably secured within an air duct to a shiftable closure member of a ventilator. The filter body may be such that its resistance to the flow of air decreases with an increase of the ventilator opening. As shown in Fig. 1, a ventilator comprises a sheet metal cylinder 15, having a spider 17 at one end, inserted in a sheet metal lining 16 cemented in position in the wall and a closure member 18 mounted on a spindle 19 screwed into a threaded hole in the spider 17. Surrounding spindle 19 is a cylindrical basket 20 of wire netting filled with kapok or steel wool and held in position by nuts 22, 23. The closure member may be attached, Fig. 3, to the outer end of an axially slidable metal cylinder 26, having a perforated bottom 30 and wall 31, by a rod 34 and nut 36. The basket 30, 31 is partly filled by a dense outer layer 37 and a less dense inner layer 38 of filter material. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91, describes also, two types of slit ventilator positioned beneath windows. As shown in Fig. 1 (Cancelled) the filter body is formed by a parallelopipedic wire netting basket 12 containing kapok or steel wool detachably inserted from the exterior. A flap type ventilator, Fig. 7 (Cancelled), is also described in which a filter body 42 is attached to the flap. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
