Abstract

675,259. Vehicular endless track. INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER CO. OF GREAT BRITAIN, Ltd. (International Harvester Co.). Sept. 14, 1949, No. 12314/51. Divided out of 675,220. Class 79(i) A rubber tread block has front and rear portions shaped to provide enlargements adapted to co-operate with inwardly directed flanges of a retaining plate on a track shoe structure of an endless track vehicle, the block being provided at the underside with a slot of dove-tailed crosssection disposed substantially parallel with the front and rear' faces of the block and the side faces of 'the slot converging towards the base of the block. As shown the tread block 1 is formed with a tread face 2, a base face 3, end faces 4 and front and rear faces 5. Portions 5a of the front and rear faces extend angularly therefrom to provide the enlargements adapted to fit closely, but slidably in an endwise direction, against the convergent faces of the inwardly directly flanges of the track shoe structure shown in Specification 675,220. The tread block is formed at the underface with the dove-tailed slot 7, the part 7a of which extending substantially to or above the junctions of the portions 5a with the faces 5. The slot 7 is adapted to receive endwise a clamping bar of keystone section, which bar is drawn downwardly by bolts to press the portions 5a against the convergent flanges. In a modification the slot 7 may be discontinuous, the clamping bar being then in two or more parts.
