674,986. Inflatable cores for forming hollow concrete articles. MATHEWS, C. B. and AMBROSE, J. G. Nov. 24, 1950 [Aug. 31, 1949; Oct. 18, 1950], Nos. 22584/49 and 25387/50. Class 87(ii) The core includes top and bottom metal plates 1, 2 having grooves or slots 3 at their longitudinal edges, the slots being designed to receive and retain rigid rods 5 carrying flexible panels 4 for closing the longitudinal sides of the core. Other slots 6 retain rigid rods 8 carrying intermediate flexible panels 7 which form chambers A, C for receiving inflatable tubes 9. The middle chamber B also may contain an inflatable tube. The top plate, and perhaps the bottom plate, has hot water passages 10, 11 to facilitate setting of the concrete. The panels 4, 7 may be made of fabric, leather, leather substitute or flexible sheet metal such as brass or non-rusting steel. Specification 582,587 is referred to.
