Abstract

673,587. Paper &c. bags. ABRAHAMS, L. H. July 21, 1950 [Aug. 23, 1949], No. 18245/50. Class 94(ii). [Also in Group VI]. A sealed percolator bag 8 containing ground coffee is formed from a porous, non-woven fabric of regenerated cellulose fibres 22, preferably viscose fibres, bound together by non-fibrous regenerated cellulose 24, also preferably viscose. The fibres are disposed generally in one direction but overlap, and cross to form a network, and are coated, e.g. sprayed, with a viscose solution, the cellulose being subsequently regenerated in situ, to form a cohesive fabric having minute pores 26. The edges of the bag may be secured together by stitching or by a glue unaffected by boiling water.
