Abstract

673,143. Fluid flow measuring. PYROMETRIE INDUSTRIELLE. March 10, 1950. No. 6115/50. Class 40 (i). The flow of fluid in a pipe 8 is measured by means of a high temperature-coefficient resistor 1 disposed within the fluid and heated by a constant current source 5 feeding the Wheatstone bridge of which the resistor 1 forms one arm. The arms 3, 4 are of constant value, so the heating current through the arms 1, 2 is also constant and the velocity of the fluid is proportional to the temperature of the resistor 1 which is indicated by the unbalance current in the' galvanometer 6. The resistor arm 2 may be used to compensate for temperature changes of the fluid. Specification 671,734, [Group XXXVI, is referred to.
