Abstract
In an extrusion process (see Group XXII) the starting product is a cast billet of an aluminium alloy containing 3.2 per cent Cu, 1.2 per cent Mg, 0.81 per cent Mn, 0.53 per cent Si, 0.59 per cent Fe and the remainder Al. The extruded rods are cooled in air, heated to 490 DEG C. for 1 1/2 hours in an air furnace, quenched, aged for 5 days at room temperature and then subjected to a 1 per cent cold drawing.
