Abstract

672,235. Swash-plate mechanism. SPARMANN, E. E. K. Aug. 4, 1948, No. 20596/48. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Feb. 5, 1949.] Class 80 (iii). A swash-plate 3 rotatably mounted upon an inclined crank 2 is guided for lemniscate oscillation by means of a link 45 connected to a point 4 in the swash-plate plane and to a point 5 on a guiding mechanism. The point 5 is arranged on a sleeve 6 which is rotatable on a crankshaft 7 which is driven at twice the speed of the main shaft 1 of the mechanism through chain gearing 98, 78. This mechanism is modified to compensate for the obliquity of the link 45 on moving from its neutral plane by means of another crank 72 on the crankshaft 7 at a phase displacement of 90 degrees co-operating with a slide in a fixed slot 73 which cause a frame 10 carrying the crankshaft 7 to oscillate about a shaft 8 on which it is rotatably supported. The resulting movement of the point 4 is along the lemniscate curve 40.
