Abstract

671,497. High frequency section. HANRIOT, R. March 13, 1950 [March 11, 1949], No. 6286/50. Class 81 (ii). In an arrangement in which an inert gas is supplied to the electrode of a H.F. cutting instrument the supply of electric power is made dependent on an adequate supply of gas. Contacts S, S<SP>1</SP> are connected in series with the power supply to the H.F. generator 8 and are controlled respectively by differential pressure sensitive elements 5a, 5b connected to opposite ends of a constriction in the gas supply pipe and by a single pressure sensitive element 6. Unless both the pressure drop across the constriction and the output pressure are adequate the power supply to the cutting instrument is interrupted.
