Class 64(iii) A heater disposed within a tank 11 comprises a plurality of heat-exchange tubes extending between upper and lower headers 31, 36, upper and lower connecting pipes 19, 23 respectively connected to the headers and extending therefrom laterally through the wall of the tank and fittings 18, 22 each making detachable sealing engagement between its respective pipe and the tank wall and between its respective pipe and an external connecting pipe (17 or 21). In the form shown, a number of the heaters are circumferentially disposed adjacent the tank wall. The headers are circular and the heat exchange tubes extend therebetween in two concentric rows. Each heater is supported by telescoped tubes 41, 42 which are welded together and extend downwardly from a supporting plate 44 with lower end of the tube 41 resting on the bottom of the tank. The joints between the heat exchange tubes and the headers and between the headers and the pipes 19, 23 are welded. The external connecting pipes 17, 21 of all the heaters are respectively connected to steam and condensate manifolds (not shown). The longitudinally extending fins 29 on the heat exchange tubes are of the kind described in Specification 651,465 and the fittings 18, 22 embody connections of the kind described in Specification 606,362, [Group XXVIII]
