667,741. Automatic temperature control systems. VAPOR HEATING CORPORATION. April 4, 1950 [April 27, 1949], No. 8469/50. Class 38 (iv). In a temperature control system for a plurality of enclosed spaces, e.g. railway car compartments, each including a thermostat set to operate at a predetermined temperature, the thermostats 10, 11, 12 are connected in shunt with a relay coil 38 of a relay 37 which controls through relay contact 41 the energization of a heater valve 21 for supplying heat to all the compartments. The arrangement is such that only when all the thermostats are calling for heat will the relay 37 be energized so as to de-energize the heater valve coil 47 to open the heater valve. The thermostats each have an auxiliary heater 59, 60, 61 so that they may be cycled through relay contact 40. A blower fan for 18 is provided and is controlled by a relay 30 and an outside thermostat 22 so as to become de-energized when the outside temperature exceeds a predetermined value.
