Abstract
667,462. Tumbler switches. ASHLEY ACCESSORIES, Ltd., and EVERITT, L. H. R. Jan. 28, 1949. No. 2372/49. Class 38 (v). A tumbler switch comprises a dolly 17 having cam-faces 20 ... 22 acting on a spring-urged bridging contact 13 through a leaf spring 23 which is bowed or flexed away from contact 13, so as to take up any lost-motion between the dolly.and the contact 13 in the closed position. On counter - clockwise movement of the dolly, the cam face 21 depresses the left-hand end of contact 13 away from a fixed contact 11 and finally cam face 20 increases this gap and separates contacts 12, 13, the point 21a between the faces 20, 21 giving an increased resistance to movement of the dolly so as to ensure that the dolly is effectively moved past its dead-centre position. The spring 23 is located by ears 24 in channels 25 in dolly supports 19.
