Abstract

667,316. Furniture frames. HVIDT, P., and NIELSEN, O. M. Feb. 15, 1950. [Feb. 15, 1949] No. 3892/150. Class 52 (ii). In an article of furniture in which the supporting frame parts consist of two uniform parts each of which takes the form of a branched body the branches of which comprise two legs and a piece connecting their upper ends. each part consists of at least one core to the contour faces of which are glued lamellae which pass at least one connection or node. Fig. 1 shows one side frame part of a chair the legs comprising cores 1, 2 and lamellae 3, 4, 5 attached as shown. The seat and back parts of the side frame comprise a lamella 6 of four layers which lamella is glued to the lamellae 3, 4, 5 and to the cores 1, 2 as shown. Fig. 3 shows a chair of another modification in which the core 11 is provided in the part connecting the legs which are formed by lamellae. The lamellae may be formed of layers of various thicknesses, of tapered form or of layers of different lengths.
