666,968. Artificial teeth. DENTISTS' SUPPLY CO. OF NEW YORK. Feb. 18, 1948 [May 3, 1941; Oct. 24, 1941; Oct. 24, 1941], Nos. 4796/48, 4797/48 and 4798/48. Class 81 (ii). [Also in Group V] Artificial teeth comprising a core part 55 and an enamel part 81 are made by injection-moulding plastic material (see Group V). The enamel may be injected on to the previouslyinjection-moulded core, or the core may be injected on to the previously-injection-moulded enamel, or the core and the enamel may be separately injected and then taken out of the moulds and stuck together. The plastic material may be acrylic, styrene, vinyl or phenolic resin. Both the core and the enamel may be acrylic resin, or the core may be of polystyrene and the enamel acrylic resin. Pieces of glass fibre, glass cloth, metal, wood, plastic or porcelain may be incorporated in the teeth. By using suitable moulds, natural markings which show through the (translucent) enamel may be imitated. Outlines may be provided on the lingual surfaces of the moulded teeth as a guide to the dentist in shaping the teeth by grinding. Projections 82 or embedded metallic pins (76, Fig. 10, not shown) serve as anchoring means for attaching the teeth to a denture base.
