666,045. Electric frying stoves. ANDERSON, J. M. July 31, 1950. [Sept. 2, 1949] No. 22760/49. Class 39(iii). In a frying stove with fat electrically heated in a deep pan 10 in an outer casing 17 and laying a thermal responsive element 20 immersed in the fat to control the heating connected through the wall of the pan to an automatic current regulator 18 which is adjusted by a rotary knob 24 mounted externally on the casing, the wall of the pan is stepped inwards and downwards at 16, and the thermostat is inserted in the part 10a of the wall of the pan where it is stepped back to allow more space between the pan and the regulator 18 and knob 24 so that the latter do not become overheated. Cold air entering the lower part of the casing is heated in passing over the pan and escapes by apertures 27 in the casing around the edge of a fixed dial 23 over which a pointer on the knob 24 moves. The casing 17 is recessed around the dial to provide the apertures 27 and to ensure that the knob 24 does not protrude materially from the front face of the casing. Projections 26 on the recessed part of the casing space the dial therefrom. A removable basket is placed in the pan, which contains the electric heaters and has at the base a crumb trap and drainage valve.
