Abstract

665,712. Ventilating. FOWLER, L. J., and WEATHERFOIL HEATING SYSTEMS, Ltd. July 20, 1950 [July 27, 1949], No. 19798/49. Class 137] Air conditioning apparatus of the type in which a fan draws air into a chamber formed in a building and delivers conditioned air into a room to be ventilated is characterized in that an access panel having a sealing engagement in one side of the chamber extends below the level of the conditioning apparatus and prevents air from byepassing the latter and also contains the outlet for the conditioned air. A chamber formed by walls 12, 13 and 14 has an opening 16 in a wall 11 of a room to be ventilated, the opening being sealed with an access panel 15 having air inlet and outlet openings 22, 21. The panel 15 may be a hinged door or a lift-off panel, or a panel may be permanently sealed in the opening 16 in which case it is provided with a removable panel 29. The conditioning apparatus in the chamber includes hot or cold water pipes 17 mounted on ledges 19 on the walls 12, 13 and 14 and on a ledge 20 on the inside of the access panel 15. A fan 25 and its motor 26 are mounted on a plate 23 which is suspended from the pipes 17 by tension wires 24. Padding 27 is provided on the corners of the plate 23, a strip 28 being provided along the side adjacent the panel 15. Specification 665,711 is referred to.
