[Also in Group V] An apparatus for obtaining a composite mica product as described in Group V comprises a platform having a plurality of trays spaced one above the other, said trays having longitudinal grooves to allow the prongs of a fork to pass below plates disposed thereon, whereby the plates may be individually removed from the trays, the whole being enclosed in a treating chamber. In a preferred embodiment a furnace 10 is provided with insulating material 11 and electrical heating elements 14, a plurality of transverse idler rollers 18 are fitted to the base of the furnace chamber and a pair of platforms 19 and 20 (not shown) of light heat-resistant steel sheet are above the rollers and are fitted with nickel chromium trays 19a which carry the mica sheets (not shown). Each tray is recessed longitudinally at 19b to allow the prongs of a fork to pass below the separator plates disposed on the tray.
