Class 7(ii) In a horizontal internal-combustion engine in which the cooling water space 1 extends over the entire length of both the cylinder 3 and the crank case 5 without exceeding at any point the width of the crank case, the cooling water contacting the entire length of the cylinder and crank case, there is provided a flywheel 7, which is arranged closely adjacent to a vertical wall of the cooling water space. The parts of the engine casing and the wall of the cooling water space in the vicinity of the flywheel are provided with cooling ribs 8.
