Class 86 A domestic mixing apparatus of the kind embodying a power driven beater adapted to operate within or to be raised above a mixing bowl associated with a base plate is provided with means for the ready attachment thereto or detachment therefrom of a beaker incorporating a blade or blades rotatable from the motor, said means being such that a driving connection to the blade or blades of the beaker is automatically effected and driving connection to the beater-driving gearing is automatically disconnected as the beaker is attached to the mixing apparatus. A cover 8 is provided over the casing when the beaker t is out of use. The bowl d is attached to the base plate by bayonet connecting means on the bottom of the bowl which are engaged by radial fingers 9 having surfaces of resilient material.
