Abstract

664,544. Weighing apparatus. MEOPTA, NATIONAL CORPORATION. April 11, 1949 [April 10, 1948], No. 9821/49. Class 143. An optical projection balance has the projector 4 located above the weigh beam to prevent the heat generated thereby affecting the weighing elements and, furthermore, has a curved translucent screen 17 forming a scale and arranged so that the projected image of the indicator is in sharp focus over the whole scale. The projector comprises a lamp 2, a condenser 5, an indicator 7 and a lens 9 adjustable to focus a sharp image of the indicator on the mirror 12 which is secured to and movable with the weigh beam 11. The image is reflected by this mirror 12 and fixed mirrors 13, 15, 16 on to the screen 17 which is adjusted for zero error by screw 19 and is shrouded by a frame 18 to reduce the amount of ambient light falling on the screen.
