Abstract
664,113. Automatic temperature control system. LEAL, J. G. RODRIGUEZ-, and URGOITI, J. N. DE. July 14, 1949 [July 14, 1948 ; Feb. 19, 1949], Nos. 18645/49 and 18646/49. Class 38 (iv). An electrically heated container comprises a pot E, Fig. 1, an insulated heating resistor R, and a joint bimetallic blade responsive to the temperature of the pot and operating a first switch X when the temperature exceeds a prodetermined value. Operation of the switch X completes a circuit to a heater r, located in a base 43, Fig. 7, on which the pot rests, which heats a second bimetallic strip to operate a second switch having contacts i which break the circuit to the heater R and r. The first bimetal strip is located between the inner wall and the outer wall of the pot E and the pot is formed with a double bottom in which is located the heater R. The pot is provided with plugs fitting into sockets to the base 43 for connecting together the leads 1, 2, 3, the supply flex 50 being led into the base at C, D. A pilot ]amp in parallel with a resistance A is included in circuit for indicating when the pot is energized. A dial is provided on the handle for operating a rod in the handle to adjust the temperature at which the heater r becomes energized. A correct relation between the pot and the base is maintained by a protrusion a on the pot and loop d on the base.
