661,859. Power transmission systems. TAYLOR, A. M. July 14,1948 [Oct. 10, 1947], No. 27216/47. Class 38 (iv). In a power transmission system comprising a sending station (not shown) containing generators connected by a transmission line OL and transformer SDT to the low-tension bus-bars LTB of the generators of a receiving station, and in which at the receiving station there is a stabilizer-as described in Specification 598,351 -comprising a synchronous motor M connected direct to the bus-bars, a fly-wheel F and a synchronous generator S driven by the motor and connected to the bus-bars through a capacitor C, the stability of the system is further improved by the provision at the receiver station of an additional transformer SDT1 supplied by the line OL and having its secondary connected to the bus-bars LTB through a capacitor C1 which neutralizes the transformer reactance. Each substation along the line also includes similar equipment.
