660,807. Loudspeakers. YOUNG, L., and YOUNG, A. Sept. 12, 1949. [Sept. 10, 1948] No. 23890/48. Class 13. A guard plate device for attachment to the sound outlet of a loudspeaker comprises a number of spaced apertured plates held together in a single unit so that the apertures in successive plates do not correspond. In the horn-type loudspeaker shown, the apertures 4 & 14 in the guard plate are spaced equiangularly and the solid portions of plate between the apertures are of greater angular extent than the apertures. The device is attached to the front of a loudspeaker by bolts through holes in projections 22 and the joint is made watertight by a rubber gasket.
