Abstract
660,372. Ground anchors. COLE, B. H. Sept. 1, 1949 [Sept. 1, 1948], No. 23101/48. Class 45 An anchorage means, Fig. 1, for a clothes prop or clothes line post comprises a block or plate 8 having a flat or convex lower surface which has projecting downwardly from its edges, and/or other suitable positions on its lower surface, a plurality of pointed teeth or spikes 9 whilst its upper surface is formed with or has means 10 attached thereto with orwithout a movable joint to support the lower end of a prop or post 11 which does not penetrate the ground. The means 10 may be a socket which may be pivotally or universally jointed to the plate 8 and may have means for locking it in a given position. In an alternative construction, Fig. 6, a metal strip 27 is bolted to the post 21 at its ends (two alternative methods being described) and pinned to the' post at its centre. Teeth 33 are pressed from the strip.
