Abstract
The Post-Anchor consists of a socket A which may be round or square which is welded to a plurality of ground-penetrating spikes B. The stake or post E is inserted into the socket and secured by a bolt. Posts or stakes are thus secured in a firm and stable position with the minimum of effort, by depressing the foot onto the "legs" or "feet" of the apparatus, in most instances. <IMAGE>
Description
Post - Anchor
This invention relates to a sturdy apparatus for securing wooden or metal stakes or posts for a variety of purposes, e.g. tie erection of signs or fencing etc.
There has long been a need for an invention which is relatively reasonably priced, durable and easy to use. This invention has four "legs" instead of the normal "spike" which is in common use, with a socket to insert the stake, welded to the base.
This novel design gives a rigidity which is unequalled by- other forms in common use.
The standard size, which is generally for use in sign erection, can in most cases be fixed into the ground by depressing the foot onto the apparatus, which dispenses with the need for ha@@@@@ring or making preliminary holes in the ground.
The "jumbo" or large sized Post-Anchor is designed for use with regard to fencing, e.g. Interwoven garden fence, which by inserting the posts into a metal socket prevents rotting off of the roses at ground level, thus giving much longer durability to the fencing.
There is also the advantage of a proprietor, either movie: to another area, or if vacating a property, taking it WiJ' The "jumbo"is also suitable for circular clothes lines, etc.
It is proposed to manufacture Post-Anchors in a full range of sizes and for sockets to take either square stakes or rod for metal or wood.
Referring to the drawing, the Post-Anchor is comprised of (50 mm) rod for the legs and 2"x2"x6" Box metal for the scėt.
This relates to the standard size, which can also be a @@@@ ntal socket.
The socket, either round or box, is welded to the base which comprises of four legs or "feet", (see drawing marked C).
The post, or stake, is inserted into the socket and being "slide" fit, is secured by a nylon or metal bolt w" diameter and 2 ' in length. Customer requirements may necessitate variations with regard to the length of the legs or "feet" of the apparatus, and also the size of either the box or round sockets, though all variations will be based upon the original four legged apparatus, which gives unparralled stability.
Claims (4)
1. The Post-Anchor comprises of an elongate hollow steel socket of
either "box metal" or cylindrical into which the post to be
secured is inserted.
2. The socket is affixed to the four "feet" of the Post-Anchor
by welding, the socket and the "feet" which comprise of steel
rod are both pre-formed members.
3. A P,ost-Anchor according to any preceeding claim iri which four
legs or feet equiangularly spaced about the socket, 7" rm each corner to the socket on the standard size.
4. The Post-Anchor according to Claims 1 and 2 is substantially
as described with reference to figs. 1 and 2 of the
accompanying drawings.
