[Class 41] [Also in Group XXII] Electrodes for electrolytic processes are made by an extrusion process and are provided with substantial teeth or projections f or recesses g on or in their external periphery. As shown in Fig. 1, an anode formed, by extrusion, from a block of zinc a is drilled and tapped to receive the screwed end of a hook c. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 5, an electrode is made in segments k of oval cross-section, which can be turned in various directions, the segments being loosely mounted on a rod n provided at the top with a hook o and at the bottom with a screwed end p, co-operating with a nut q and washer r to support the segments. In a further modification, the electrode is reversible with respect to a central rod formed with holes to receive a supporting pin and adapted to be connected at either end to a suspension hook.
