Abstract

656,783. Hollow - ware. ASHDOWNS, Ltd., and LOMAS, C. Jan. 8, 1948, No. 650. [Class 66] [Also in Group V] A hollow article 15, e.g. a spinning pot for artificial silk is moulded from thermoplastic or thermosetting resin and is reinforced by a jacket 12 of textile material, glass cloth, knitted glass fibre, or wire gauze &c. incorporated into its outer surface during the moulding operation (see Group V). The jacket may have been impregnated with resin before the moulding operation. The bottom of the pot has a stem, the upper part 14 of which is also reinforced by the jacket, provided with a socket 16 for a driving spindle. The Provisional Specification describes and shows a similar article, but having no stem.
